Amazingly Martin arrived just in time for my birthday on the 31st of March. So, armed with a
huge Chocolate cake and ice cream, we headed off to the hospital early Tuesday morning….. It was wonderful as the nurses sang happy birthday, gave me a beautiful birthday gift and we all ate cake, chatted and laughed and Martin caught his first glance of Perla… and as expected he is smitten!

I have not spent much time as usual at work as have been showing Martin around town… But he has come in and helped out at the hospital and of course spent time with Perla. Today we took her out into Antigua so she could enjoy an ice cream…..
I was surprised to find that it was a lot quieter today, and then found out that some of the children have been taken away for Easter week by their families, friends or god parents. So more time to play with the ones that are left.
Next Saturday its Perla’s baptism and we are going to the church and will pay towards it…..
Holiday!!!!!

Antigua is really busy with tourists and preparations for next week. So we spent a few days in Anitgua before heading off to Panajachel and Lake Atitlan for a small break, my first holiday for a long time. Two hours of breathtaking scenery as we wound up higher towards the lake which is a volcanic crater. Had a really restful time enjoying the views across the lake and of course the nature reserve with its Spider monkeys.
Back in Antigua on Sunday, we enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Hotel Santo Domingo…just prefect!!!
More next week…..

Hola chica!
So glad you've had some time out for you. What a gorgeous photogenic couple you and Martin are. Looks like you had some good times together. And that cake! Hope you've saved me a slice.
The pictures as always are amazing and I seem to have spent hours this morning looking at them all. Can't imagine what you're going to see over Easter but am impatient already for your next blog.
As for the coming festivities and Raju's visit ......... respira profundamente y disfruta de cada momento!
Besos y abrazos Maya xxxxxxx
